New Breakthrough: The Development of New Structure On Load Voltage Regulating Transformer

At the end of June 2021, the medium and high voltage Business Department of CEEG successfully completed the design, development, and manufacturing of on load voltage regulating transformer for super large capacity power plants in five months, and delivered high-quality products for an Indonesian project of a power station.
 
In order to meet the power demand of industrial users in the Karim merar area, Riau Province, Indonesia, a power station company is the owner Pt Soma Daya Utama will build two coal-fired power plants with a gross output of 31mW in the West merar region. The function of the power plant is to provide the power source for the industrial load center and operate in an isolated network. As a leading transformer manufacturer in the industry, CEEG has undertaken the R & D and manufacturing of on-load voltage regulating transformers for super large capacity power plants of a power station company's Indonesian coal-fired power station project. After 5 months of repeated research and development, the high-pressure business department has successfully adopted the new-type design and special production structure.
 
During the research and development of sfz11-40000 / 22 super large capacity on load voltage regulation and step-up power transformer, because the single unit capacity far exceeds the scope of national standard, the design and manufacturing of electrical and mechanical properties of the product are quite difficult, and the production process is extremely complex. In the process of design and production, we can not simply learn from the existing conventional technology. The medium and high voltage business division of CEEG encountered many difficulties in the research and development process, mainly including: how to reduce eddy current loss Simplify the design and production difficulty of the high-voltage coil and high-voltage lead, and optimize the assembly process of the body; How to select the best combination of on-load voltage regulating switch and improve the anti sudden short circuit ability of transformer.
 
The high-voltage side current of sfz11-40000 / 22 transformer is 1155A, and the selection of high-voltage coil is very difficult. According to the structural design of a conventional 35kV Power transformer, the coil winding is very difficult, and the eddy current loss is also very large, at the same time, the loss and local overheating are difficult to control, and the cost remains high. In addition, the conventional three-phase on-load voltage regulating switch can not meet the project design requirements, so the best combination of three single-phase on-load voltage regulating switches needs to be fully considered.
 
The R & D team of the medium and high voltage division has repeatedly considered the reference to the existing production equipment and process of the company, and achieved five innovative breakthroughs in the overall technical scheme:
 
  1.  High voltage coil adopts CTC wound layer structure innovatively;
  2.  Innovative use of high-voltage coil and low-voltage coil winding without suit structure;
  3.  Innovative measures to prevent brace string during continuous winding of high-voltage coil and low-voltage coil;
  4.  Outgoing line mode of the high-voltage coil and low-voltage coil continuous winding structure;
  5.  Innovatively adopt the combination scheme of three single-phase switch products.

 

This technical scheme was initiated by the company and has no development experience. When the scheme was first launched, it encountered many objections. After many technical discussions and training by the R & D team of the medium and high voltage business unit, the internal finally reached an agreement. Although the overall technical scheme is difficult, it is worth a try. Once successfully developed, the technical scheme will have a significant demonstration effect on similar products in the future.
 
All colleagues of the medium and high voltage business division felt the stone to cross the river, overcome many difficulties, and finally successfully completed the development task. Under the witness of the customer's supervisor, the product passed all factory tests at one time and was successfully sent to the project site in Indonesia. The successful development of on load voltage regulating transformer for super large capacity power plant with new structure can apply for two invention patents and two utility model patents.
 
The medium and high voltage division of CEEG completed the design, development, and manufacturing of on-load voltage regulating transformer for super large capacity power plant in five months, which not only delivered high-quality products for the Indonesian project of the power station, but also explored a new road for the development and manufacturing of similar products in the future. The medium and high voltage division made new contributions to CEEG products with collective wisdom.
